Finishes and Engraving Styles Explained 

Oxidised Aging - the engraved area is chemically treated to produce a black matt finish – the un-engraved area is finished to a high silver polish.
Matt Silver – is a high gloss silver finish to the face, the engraved area is matt silver finish.
9ct Gold – a high gloss finish to the face, the engraved area is matt finish or aged gold (darker engraving)

Positive Engraving - The design is engraved into the silver (or gold) 

Negative Engraving - The background of the design is engraved into the silver (or gold) leaving a small edge raised border
